The standard ZTE Axon 7 may have only just gone on sale in the U.S. but a slightly smaller variant has just appeared on multiple online retailer websites in Germany, revealing a full specs sheet and price. Don't get too excited about a Sony-style mini-flagship though, as it looks like ZTE has taken the watered-down route instead. However, the standout Axon 7 Mini feature is undoubtedly the apparent inclusion of a Force Touch display, which otherwise only appears on the 128 GB version of the regular-sized Axon 7.

The listed Axon 7 Mini specs include a 5.2-inch Full HD display, octa-core Snapdragon 617 (with four cores clocked at 1.5 GHz and four at 1.2 GHz), 3 GB of RAM, 32 GB ROM, 16 MP primary camera and 2,705 mAh battery. All of these are a downgrade from the larger original.
Assuming the placeholder image is accurate, the design of the ZTE Axon 7 Mini is identical to its larger sibling. Unfortunately though, the best part of the full-sized Axon 7 is the incredible specs sheet you get for not much money. Take away all of those top-tier specs and – even with a much smaller price tag – you're just not inspiring the same level of excitement.
You'll still get Android 6.0 Marshmallow out of the box though, as well as microSD card expansion, an 8 MP front-facing camera, front-mounted stereo speakers, NFC and support for two SIM cards. Those specs alone make the ZTE Axon 7 Mini worth checking out, so it's up to you if the other specs are insufficient for your needs.
We don't have a timeline for the ZTE Axon 7 release date or U.S. availability, but, assuming these listings are accurate, it shouldn't be long now at all.
