If you've been waiting to get your hands on the Huawei P9 in India since its announcement back in April, the good news is that you have less than a month to wait. The Chinese smartphone maker has begun sending out invites for an upcoming product launch in India on August 17, and while the device isn't explicitly mentioned, sources indicate that we could expect it to be the Huawei P9.

The P9 features an impressive, premium design and build quality, and comes with a 5.2-inch IPS LCD Full HD display, Huawei's in-house octa-core HiSilicon Kirin 955 processor, 3 GB or 4 GB of RAM depending on the storage option you choose, and a 3,000 mAh battery. The device is available in a dual-SIM iteration, and that is certainly what we can expect to see here in India, given the popularity of this feature in the country.
Photography enthusiasts will find the P9 to be particularly compelling, with the big selling point of this device being its unique dual 12MP camera setup, that has been developed in collaboration with the famous German lens and camera manufacturer, Leica. One of the sensors captures images in RGB spectrum, while the other captures monochromatic (black and white) images, with the picture quality algorithm combining the images taken by both the cameras. As you may have seen in the videos above, the camera of the Huawei P9 is certainly an impressive performer.
