LG has a decent amount of options covering the high-end range of devices, releasing at least one major flagship a year, and more recently trending towards two flagship releases a year. But what about the lower end of things? While they have always offered some mid-low end phones for more budget-centric users, LG is getting ready to heat things up at CES 2017.
The company has opted to refresh their K-series lineup from last year with a slew of new hardware specs for the new season of hardware. So what's new in the K line?
The LG K10 sits at the top of the K-series lineup, featuring some of the strongest specs out of the entire group. It sports a 5.3″ HD IPS display, 1.5GHz Octa-core processor, 2GB of RAM, and 16GB of storage. With a 2,800mAh battery and fingerprint scanner to boot, this device comes in at the top of the budget tier to secure a spot a flagship would have maintained just a few years ago.
Next up, we have the K8. The LG K8 is very similar to the K10 in many ways, but sports a 1.4GHz Quad-core processor and 1.5GB of RAM with 16GB of storage. The 13MP camera in the K8 is the same as the K10, but sports a 2,500 mAh battery instead. It uses the same body as the K8, K4, and K3.
As we head furhter down the line, we find the K4, which uses a 1.1GHz Quad core processor with a 5″ FWVGA IPS display, 1GB of RAM, 8GB of storage, and a 5MP camera on the front and back of the device. It sports 2,500mAh just like the LG K8, but weighs less at 135g vs the 142g of the K8.
Finally, we have the LG K3. The K3 is the lowest end model of the LG K series. It has a 4.5″ FWVGA IPS display with a 1.1GHz quad core processor, along with 1GB of RAM and 8GB of storage. This phone uses a 5MP camera in the rear with a 2MP selfie cam, and features a 2,100 mAh battery. This obviously won't be the fastest device in the world, but it will be enough to get many users though the day.
While LG has not announced a release date or pricing tier as of yet, we're sure we will hear something soon. We'll update you as we learn more, but in the meantime stayed tuned to Android Authority as we bring you more great news as CES 2017 begins to kick off.
