Grab the Razer Kishi Android gaming controller for just $45 today

If you want to take your smartphone gaming experience to the next level, your best bet is to pick up a gaming smartphone like the ASUS ROG Phone 5S. Or you can just buy Razer’s Kishi gaming controller. If you have been eyeing to get hold of this amazing mobile controller, you’ll be glad to know that it’s currently on sale.

     Razer Kishi gaming controller
The Razer Kishi is one of the best smartphone gaming controllers out here. It's sturdy, lightweight and offers great tactile feedback.

The Razer Kishi Android controller usually retails for $80, but thanks to this early Black Friday deal, you can get it for just $45, a whopping 44% discount from its normal price. Meanwhile, the Kishi controller for iPhone is seeing a 40% drop in its price and can be had for just $60. The controller + earphones and controller + Universal Grip Tape bundles are on sale too.

The Razer Kishi is a telescopic gaming controller that works with most, if not all, modern smartphones. It connects through your phone’s USB Type-C port, thus ensuring a latency-free experience, unlike Bluetooth controllers. It has two clickable analog thumbsticks, an 8-way D-pad, two triggers (L2/R2), two bumpers (L1R1), and three function buttons. As we noted in our review, the controller is quite lightweight and solidly built, and the buttons provide nice tactile feedback. It also has the passthrough USB-Type C port, allowing you to charge your phone while gaming.

The Razer Kishi is compatible with all major cloud gaming services, including Xbox Cloud Gaming, Google Stadia, Nvidia GeForce Now, Steak Link, and Amazon Luna. While the controller works with many popular smartphones on the market, it may not fit some larger phones, so make sure to check the required dimensions before hitting that “Buy Now” button.

Samsung’s high-end Odyssey G7 and G9 gaming monitors are discounted for Black Friday

If you’re looking to upgrade your gaming setup, Samsung’s Black Friday deals on monitors may be right up your alley. Both of Samsung’s high-end gaming monitors, the Odyssey G7 and G9, are seeing some big discounts for Black Friday.

The Odyssey G7 is probably the one that might interest the most people since it’s a bit more standard. It comes in 32-inch and 27-inch models and features QHD (2560 x 1440) resolution – meaning it has a 16:9 aspect ratio – and a 240Hz refresh rate with support for NVIDIA G-Sync and AMD FreeSync Premium Pro. Both models are discounted by $200, making the smaller size $499.99, and the bigger one $599.99.

Samsung Odyssey G7 Gaming Monitor ($200 off)
This high-end gaming monitor has a Quad HD panel, 240Hz refresh rate, and HDR 600 support. With a $200 discount, it's a great option if you're looking for an upgrade.

It’s not all about resolution and refresh rate with the Odyssey G7, though. The QLED panel features 1000R curvature for optimal viewing while gaming, it offers 1ms response time,  and it includes HDR 600 support, so this is a great panel all around. It can be flashy, too, with “Infinity Core” RGB lighting on the back.

If the Odyssey G7 is not cutting-edge enough for you, there’s always the massive 49-inch Samsung Odyssey G9, which has an even more appealing discount this Black Friday. Usually, this ultra-wide monitor costs $1,599, but it’s down to $1,099 at Samsung and other retailers.

Samsung Odyssey G9 Gaming Monitor ($500 off)
The Samsung Odyssey is an incredible gaming monitor that's as big as two screens side-by-side. It has ultrawide Quad HD resolution, a 240Hz refresh rate, and HDR 1000 support.

This is an extremely wide monitor with a 32:9 aspect ratio – essentially the same as having two monitors next to each other. It comes in UWQHD (5120 x 1440) resolution, and features the same great technologies of the Odyssey G7. In fact, it’s even better in some ways, because instead of HDR 600, you get support for HDR 1000, so you’ll have an absolutely fantastic viewing experience. Everything else is the same – 240Hz refresh rate, NVIDIA G-Sync and AMD FreeSync Premium Pro support, 1ms response time, and a curved QLED panel. It’s all here, and this deal makes it all the more tempting.

If you want something a bit more conservative, the Samsung Odyssey G5 is also seeing some sweet discounts. At Best Buy, both the 27-inch and 32-inch model are down to just $249.99, which is $130 off the smaller size and $180 off the larger one. Samsung is offering a $130 discount on both sizes.

Samsung Odyssey G5 Gaming Monitor (up to $180 off)
This is a quality mid-range monitor featuring a Quad HD display and 144Hz refresh rate.

Aside from the size, the two models are similar. It’s a Quad HD panel with a 144Hz refresh rate and 1ms response times. It also supports HDR10 and AMD FreeSync Premium, so it’s a solid experience for up-and-coming gamers.

Google Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro are seeing work for mainline Linux kernel support

The Google Pixel 6 and the Pixel 6 Pro are the first smartphones powered by the company’s in-house Tensor SoC. They also shipped with Android 12 out-of-the-box, and if you take a look at the kernel sources, you can find Linux kernel 5.10 under the hood. If you’ve already bought either device for the sake of aftermarket development, then you’ll be happy to know that Google has recently started populating a mainline Linux kernel 5.15 branch for the Pixel 6 family. What’s more interesting is that XDA Recognized Developer Freak07 has already managed to compile and boot the mainline kernel release for the device duo.

Google Pixel 6 running mainline Linux kernel 5.15

The Google 6 Pro running the mainline Linux kernel 5.15

What’s so exciting about having mainline Linux kernel support for an Android device? In a nutshell, this is kind of similar to how Project Treble modularized Android by separating the OS framework from the vendor implementation, but with a lot bigger scope. With a successful inclusion in the mainline Linux kernel, the Pixel 6 family will be able to boot future kernel revisions released by Google (or kernel.org) with no changes, which makes it a lot easier to keep up with AOSP versions, or even vanilla Linux distributions. End of the day, this is the true essence of the Generic Kernel Image (GKI) project: Isolate SoC vendor and OEM customizations to plugin modules and eliminate out-of-tree code, so that Google can push kernel updates directly to the end-user.

    Google Pixel 6
The Pixel 6 comes with Google's new Tensor chip, a modern design, and flagship cameras.
    Google Pixel 6 Pro
The Pixel 6 Pro is the larger sibling that comes with Google's new Tensor chip, a modern design, and an extra telephoto camera.

With that being said, keep in mind that the whole mainline kernel for the Google Pixel 6 is nowhere near the stable tag. As pointed out by Freak07, Google has also laid the foundation of a common Linux kernel 5.15 for Android 13, which might be related to the upcoming major kernel update for the devices alongside the next Android version bump, or it could be entirely intended for a future Pixel device.

Nonetheless, you can boot the mainline Linux kernel 5.15 on the Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro right now without messing up with the code, thanks to the proof-of-concept kernel build offered by Freak07. According to the developer, a number of things like Wi-Fi calling and audio output via USB-C are currently broken, but if you can overlook those, you can have a first taste of the latest Long-Term Support (LTS) Linux kernel on your phone. OnePlus 9RT and Buds Z2 reportedly launching in India next month

Following multiple leaks, OnePlus finally unveiled the OnePlus 9RT in China last month. The new model is an incremental upgrade over the OnePlus 9R that came out earlier this year and brings numerous improvements such as a slightly updated design, a faster chipset, an upgraded primary camera, improved thermals, and more. While OnePlus didn’t share any details about the subsequent international launch at the time, a new leak claims the phone will soon be making its way to the Indian market.

According to prolific tipster Ishaan Agarwal (via 91Mobiles), the OnePlus 9RT will be launching in India next month. Some recent rumors suggested that the phone would be rebranded as the OnePlus RT in India. However, whether that turns out to be the case remains to be seen. Agarwal says the phone will be available in at least two colors: Nano Silver and Hacker Black. Details about the pricing and exact availability aren’t known at this point, but if the OnePlus 9R was any indication, the new phone would likely have a competitive price tag.

The new OnePlus Buds Z2 earbuds are also expected to launch alongside. They will arrive in Obsidian Black and Pearl White colors. The new earbuds offer noteworthy improvements over the last year’s Buds Z. They pack larger 11mm dynamic drivers, Active Noise Cancellation (ANC), improved battery life, IP55 water and dust resistance, and a triple microphone array.

OnePlus hasn’t officially confirmed anything about the OnePlus 9RT India launch just yet, but we expect to hear from the company in the coming weeks.

As a refresher, the OnePlus 9RT features a 6.62-inch FHD+ AMOLED display with 120Hz refresh rate, a Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 SoC, 8GB/12GB RAM, a 50MP Sony IMX 766 primary shooter, an in-display fingerprint reader, and a 4,500mAh battery with 65W fast charging support. In China, the phone runs OPPO’s ColorOS 12 out-of-the-box. However, we expect the Indian model to run the more familiar OxygenOS interface.
