Amazon Fire TV Cube could be launching in India soon at an interesting price

Smart devices can take various forms, and some of the most recognizable product formats are smart speakers. Back in 2018, Amazon introduced the Amazon Fire TV Cube, which merged USPs of a smart speaker with a streaming set-top box product. Essentially, you could have hands-free access to Alexa and get all the features of an Amazon Fire TV streaming stick or dongle. After three years, Amazon could be looking to bring this product to India.

According to a leak by Ishan Agarwal, the Amazon Fire TV Cube will launch in India this week in its second-generation format. The product is expected to be priced around the ₹10,000 mark, which is expected as the product goes on sale in the USA for $119.99 (~₹8,700) and the pricing will be higher for an imported product in India. There are no real competing products at this price point or any other price point, but consumers are likely to find the product experience expensive unless they are married to the Alexa ecosystem already.

The Fire TV Cube in India will come with the new Fire TV UI that began rolling out early this year, as well as the new Alexa remote. Amazon has not made any official announcements yet on this end, but if the leak is correct, we should expect to hear from them soon.

The Amazon Fire TV Cube combines the features of the Fire TV Stick with Echo smart speakers, letting users control their TV and other smart devices using their voice through Alexa. The device also comes with support for Dolby Vision and 4K UHD content, as well as support for HDR10+ and Dolby Atmos audio. Other features include Wi-Fi MIMO, Bluetooth 5.0 LE, IR sensors, HDMI, and a microUSB port.

The new Alexa remote features more quick access buttons, for Alexa as well as other TV apps like Prime Video, Prime Music, and Netflix. As for the new Fire TV UI, it features a revamped Home Screen with greater emphasis on content discovery, a new navigation menu, and personalized streaming profiles for multi-person households.

TicWatch Pro 3 starts getting the major Wear OS H-MR2 update

TicWatch Pro 3 GPS owners are being treated to a fresh update. This is a major update that brings notable improvements to the system performance, adds new features, and fixes many bugs.

The rollout was announced (via Reddit) by TicWatch’s official Facebook group. The update is based on Wear OS H-MR2 and carries firmware version PMRB.210407.001. The update will be delivered to the TicWatch Pro 3 GPS in a phased manner, with 10% of the user base receiving the OTA today, followed by a broader roll out over the coming days. The update should reach all units by April 24.

There are a plethora of new features and improvements waiting for TicWatch Pro 3 GPS owners in the latest update. There’s a new screen brightness layout, a new weather tile, an optimized launcher, updated security patches, and much more. Users can also look forward to improved system performance and faster app launch times.

Realme UI 2.0 Open Beta now available for Realme X3 and Realme X3 SuperZoom

After launching the Realme UI 2.0 Open Beta program for the Realme C3 and Narzo 10A earlier this month, Realme has now opened its Android 11 Open Beta program for two new devices: the Realme X3 and the Realme X3 SuperZoom.

Realme X3 and Realme X3 SuperZoom users can now enroll in the Realme UI 2.0 Open Beta program and experience the new Android 11 build ahead of the stable release. In case you have one of these devices, you can register for the program by following these steps:

• Update your device to the required version of Realme UI mentioned in the early access announcement post (linked below).
• Navigate to the Software Update section on your device, tap on the settings icon in the top right corner, select Trial Version, tap on Early Access, and tap on the Apply now button.
• Enter all the required details and finish the quiz.

Once you submit your application, Realme will review it and push the Realme UI 2.0 Open Beta build to your phone. Do note that the Open Beta program is being extended to a limited number of users, so you may not receive the early access build on your device.

The software release will include a host of new features and changes introduced in Android 11, along with a bunch of Realme UI updates, like a better dark mode, support for third-party icon packs, new photo editing tools, and more.

Official LineageOS 18.1 builds arrive for Xiaomi Mi A2, LG G3, Galaxy Note 3 and Galaxy S5

The team at LineageOS dropped LinageOS 18.1 late last month, with the first official builds going live for nearly 60 devices at the time of launch. A week later, a bunch of new devices were added to the roster including the OnePlus 7 Pro, OnePlus 7T Pro, Redmi Note 5 Pro, and Moto X (2014). Now, the team is extending the support for several new devices. The official LineageOS 18.1 builds are now available for the Xiaomi Mi A2, LG G3, Galaxy Note 3, Galaxy S5, and Galaxy S5 Active.

Google Search now shows Pac-Man, Ultraman, Hello Kitty, and other iconic anime characters in AR

In December last year, Google added a new augmented reality experience to Search that let users view a 3D animated version of Baby Yoda on their devices. The company is now giving a similar treatment to several iconic anime characters, including Pac-Man, Ultraman, Hello Kitty, and more.

As per a recent blog post from the company, you can now view some of the most iconic anime characters in AR using Google Search on your phone. To do so, simply search for one of the characters mentioned below in the Google app or in any Android browser, scroll down to the ‘About’ section, and tap on the new ‘View in 3D’ button. This will open up a new page with a 3D model of the selected character. You can then tap on the ‘View in your space’ button, give the app access to your camera, microphone, and storage, and the model should appear wherever you point the camera.

The new Google Search anime AR experience is available for the following characters:

• Ultraman
• Ultraman Zero
• Ultraman Belial
• Gomora
• Evangelion (EVA-01 Test Type)
• Gundam (Odysseus Gundam, Xi Gundam, Penelope)
• Cogimyun
• The drums from Taiko no Tatsujin
• Pac-Man
• Pompompurin
• Little Twin Stars

The AR experience is available on all Android devices running Android 7.0 Nougat or later and iOS 11 or later. On ARCore-enabled devices, you’ll get easy access to all 3D characters in a carousel on the ‘View in 3D’ page. All the characters mentioned above come with a couple of unique animations and sound effects. Hello Kitty, Kongimyun, and Pompompurin also say a couple of lines in Japanese and English.

The new Predator Helios 300 comes with a 15.6-inch full-HD (1920 x 1080-pixels) IPS display with 300-nits brightness, and up to 240Hz refresh rate. The laptop is powered by the Intel Core Core i7-10870H processor paired with up to 32GB RAM, 1TB SSD, and up to 2TB HDD.
