Realme 7 gets its first Realme UI 2.0 Open Beta build based on Android 11

Realme kicked off the Realme UI 2.0 closed beta program for the Realme X2, Realme 7, Realme 6 Pro, and Narzo 20 Pro back in December last year. While most of these devices have already received their first open beta builds based on Android 11, the Realme 7 hasn’t. Thankfully, the company has now announced the Realme UI 2.0 open beta program for the device, and interested users can enroll in the program to try the Android 11 release before the stable rollout.

As per a recent post on the Realme community forums, the Realme UI 2.0 open beta program for the Realme 7 is now live. If you’re interested in trying out the Android 11 beta release on your device, you can enroll yourself in the program by following a few simple steps.

Realme UI 2.0 apply open beta

To apply for the program, head over to the Software Update section in the device settings. Tap on the settings cog in the top right corner and select the Trial Version option. Then submit your details on the following page and tap on Apply Now.

Realme 7 Open Beta

Realme will take some time to process your application, and you should receive an update notification for the beta build once that’s done. Do note that Realme will only approve a few applications at first, so you may have to wait a while before you receive the notification. You will also have to update your device to a specific Realme UI build (mentioned in the community post) to receive the update.

It goes without saying that you should create a backup of all your data before installing the update. You should also ensure that your device has a minimum of 60% charge left before you initiate the installation. Realme notes that you may encounter unexpected bugs in the beta release, and some third-party apps may not work as intended. Thankfully, the company has also provided simple instructions to roll back to the Android 10 release if things get out of hand.

The Samsung Galaxy S20 FE 5G is reportedly making its way to India next week

Samsung launched two versions of the Galaxy S20 FE in September last year. The company offered a 4G variant featuring its own Exynos 990 chip and a 5G variant packing Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 865 chip. Although the company offered both versions in most markets, it only launched the 4G-enabled device in India. This left many buyers bummed, as the Snapdragon 865 variant offered significantly better performance for a marginally higher price. Thankfully, the company is now bringing the Snapdragon 865 variant to the Indian market as well.

Industry sources familiar with Samsung’s operations have revealed (via Economic Times) that the company is all set to launch the Galaxy S20 FE 5G in the country next week. While the report doesn’t reveal the exact launch date, it claims that Samsung is launching the device to strengthen its 5G-enabled smartphone portfolio in the country. That’s a bit amusing, as Samsung recently unveiled a 4G and a 5G variant of the Galaxy A52 globally and Indian buyers only got the 4G variant.

That being said, the Galaxy S20 FE 5G is still a great addition to Samsung’s portfolio in the Indian market, and it’ll give buyers a bit more choice in the affordable flagship segment. For the unaware, the Samsung Galaxy S20 FE 5G packs Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 865 chip, coupled with 6GB of RAM and 128GB of onboard storage. The device features a stunning 6.5-inch FHD+ Infinity-O display that refreshes at 120Hz, a 12MP+12MP+8MP triple camera setup, and a 4,500mAh battery. Since Samsung has already started rolling out the One UI 3.1 update based on Android 11 to the Galaxy S20 FE globally, we expect the Indian variant to launch with the latest software release.

At the moment, we don’t have any further information about the launch. We’ll update this post as soon as we learn more.

Best Galaxy S21 Ultra Wallet Cases: Samsung, Olixar, OtterBox, Spigen, & More!

So far, the Galaxy S21 Ultra is one of the best flagship Android smartphones announced this year. It offers a 6.8-inch 1440 x 3200 display, a 120Hz refresh rate, a Snapdragon 888 processor, a 108-megapixel main camera, 100x zoom, a 5,000mAh battery, a stunning design, and more. However, all these great features come at a high cost, with the Galaxy S21 Ultra launching at $1,199 in the US. If you’re prepared to spend that amount of money on a high-end smartphone, you’ll no doubt want to invest in a protective case to prevent it from getting scratched, bumped, or even broken.

Ever since Samsung announced it in January, a lot of different Galaxy S21 Ultra cases have entered the market. A large number of these happen to be wallet-style cases, which not only offer all-around protection for the phone but also allow you to store several credit cards and some cash. But considering that there are so many wallet cases available for the Galaxy S21 Ultra, you may be wondering which one to buy. So, to help you choose one, we’ve rounded up the best Galaxy S21 Ultra wallet cases. Read on to find out which wallet case best suits your needs and budget.

As you can see, there are many great wallet cases available for the Galaxy S21 Ultra. But, ultimately, which one should you choose? If you’re happy to spend more money on a high-quality case, we’d recommend the LED Wallet Cover from Samsung. It not only offers a premium design and a credit card slot, but also additional features like custom icons and touch controls.

Of course, not everyone is in a position to spend $59.99 on a phone case. But should you want something cheaper, the Olixar Soft Silicone Wallet Case and TUCCH Wallet Case both cost under $20. Either way, you’ll definitely want to keep your $1,199 smartphone in a case so that it never gets damaged.

Do you own a Galaxy S21 Ultra, and have you found a great case for it? Let us know in the comments section below.

Today’s daily Samsung Discover Week deal is 50% off the Galaxy Tab S7 Plus!

We’re halfway through the Samsung Discover Week event, and the retailer is starting to pull out the outstanding deals! Today, you can save 50% on the Galaxy Tab S7 Plus, an incredible tablet that can easily replace your laptop. With the tablet recently receiving a nice S-Pen update, now’s the perfect time to pick one up for yourself.

The catch to this deal is that the 50% off is only available for the Mystic Silver colorway of the tablet. The silver color looks great, though, so it’s far from a downgrade!

Anyway, the MSRP of the Galaxy Tab S7 Plus is $850. That’s a bit of a sticker shock, but $425 is a far better price. That’s a price competitive with some Chromebooks on the market! The 50% off isn’t tied to trade-ins or anything, either, you just save! That said, if you have an eligible item to trade-in, you can drop the price of the Tab S7 Plus even more.

How good is the Galaxy Tab S7 Plus, exactly? Check out our impressions!  It’s a really powerful tablet with lots of functionality. With the Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 and a 120Hz refresh rate, these specs are more powerful than many productivity laptops on the market. On top of that, the touch screen with an included S-Pen lets you use your tablet exactly how you’d like. The only real downside to the tablet was the premium price point, but with a deal like this, that’s not an issue! Just make sure to pick up a keyboard cover to go with it for the full experience.

$425 is an incredible deal, but don’t sleep on it–it’s only available until the end of the day.

Galaxy Tab S7 Plus (Mystic Silver)
Get the premium tablet experience for a Chromebook price! The Galaxy Tab S7 Plus in Mystic Silver is 50% off, today only.

If you want to see all of the Samsung Discover Week deals, check out their deal page below. Check back tomorrow for the next deal of the day!

Final Fantasy VIII Remastered is now available for Android and iOS platforms

Square Enix has dropped yet another Final Fantasy game that you can relive on your mobile. Final Fantasy VIII Remastered has made its way to the mobile platform and is available via the Google Play Store as well as the Apple App Store. Originally launched in 1999, the HD version of the game was released in 2019 for all major gaming platforms, including PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and Steam. It is now available for Android and iOS, selling at a promotional price of $16.99, which is expected to increase to $20.99 after April 4.

The total size of the game is 2.59GB, so make sure you have enough space on your device. As per the app listing on the Google Play Store, Cloud saves and controller support options are expected to be added in a future update. While it is a complete port of the original PC version, it does come with a few glitches, as noted in the FAQ section of the game:

  • Entering or leaving vehicles such as cars and the Garden may occasionally get your character stuck between the vehicle and terrain features or freeze the vehicle in place. This seems to happen more often when you leave your vehicle in close proximity to impassable terrain or when you try to enter or leave your vehicle during certain scripted events. Currently, the only fix for this is to reload a previously saved game, so please make sure to save your progress often.
  • Some locations may be difficult to navigate using the Speed Boost (x3). We advise you to turn off this feature in such cases.

Additionally, Chocobo World is not playable, but you get an option for a 3x speed boost, battle assist, and the ability to turn battle encounters on or off. Try out the game and let us know what you think!
