AMD expected to launch new Radeon RX 6700 series GPUs next week

AMD will be making some new announcements next week as it has scheduled a special event called “Where Gaming Begins: Episode 3” on March 3. The company is expected to launch new GPU models under its RDNA 2-based Radeon RX 6000 series, and if rumors are anything to go by, it could very well be the Radeon RX 6700 and the Radeon RX 6700 XT.

A reference card render of the upcoming GPU has been shared by AMD, which suggests that it could include some of the design queues as seen on the previously announced RX 6900 XT, RX 6800 XT, and the RX 6800 graphics cards. This one, however, will be smaller with a smaller cooling system with dual-fans and a dual-slot design. The card also seems to have three DisplayPorts and a single HDMI connection but is notably missing a USB Type-C port seen on the existing Big Navi GPUs. The upcoming GPU is also expected to share the same Navi 22 architecture as before.

As per some leaked information, the AMD Radeon RX 6700 XT will feature 40-compute units and 2560-stream processors with 12GB GDDR6 memory along with a 192-bit bus interface. It is expected to feature 16Gbps dies capable of a total bandwidth of 384GB/s. There is also a rumor that the 6700 XT could be offered with a 200W TDP while the RX 6700 might arrive with a rated TDP of 150W.

The new GPU announcement from AMD is scheduled for March 3 at 11 AM EST. It is expected that the RX 6700 series will go head to head with NVIDIA’s new RTX 3060, which officially hit markets today. Can AMD finally deliver a solid mid-range GPU to oust team green? Let us know what you think. Also, if you are planning to get your hands on the new RTX 3060, make sure you go through our stocks guide.

Amazon Music comes to Google TV and all Android TV devices

Amazon Music is making its way to Google TV and all devices running Android TV. The new addition arrives shortly after Google TV added the Apple TV app, along with the service’s many original movies and TV shows.

Amazon’s music streaming service is, of course, an alternative to the many other music streaming services on the market, including Google’s own YouTube Music. Amazon Music subscribers will be able to access the app on Chromecast with Google TV along with other devices that support Android TV.

Amazon Music looks great on a large display, with a clean design, bold artwork, and UI that’s easy to understand and navigate. The interface displays playlists and stations for you, along with your own library of liked songs, playlists, and more. It’ll be a nice service to thrown on the next time you have guests over.

If you haven’t been keeping up with the latest developments to Amazon’s streaming service, the platform has added plenty of new features over the last several months. Recently, the company introduced an X-Ray feature that offers a behind the scenes look at song information, artists, and albums. The feature also includes fun trivia for song credits, related content, and more.

As 9to5Google points out, the Amazon Music app has been on the Play Store for Android TV for months now, but only for Nvidia Shield devices. Today’s news makes the app available to all devices that run Android TV, plus the Chromecast with Google TV.

You can subscribe to Amazon Music Unlimited for $7.99 per month with a Prime membership, or $9.99 per month without Prime. There’s also an ad-supported free tier, which was recently expanded to iOS, Android, and Fire TV. The new Amazon Music app is available today in the U.S., UK, Canada, Brazil, Mexico, Germany, France, Italy, Spain, India, Japan, and Australia.

LineageOS 18.1 unofficially lands on the Exynos Samsung Galaxy S20 series

Ever since the official arrival of Android 11, developers from all over the world have been hammering away at bugs on their build machines in order to shoehorn the Android OS onto our devices in the form of custom ROMs. As is customary, we have seen unofficial builds of the major releases, including LineageOS 18.1, surface across a wide variety of devices, the latest of which is the Samsung Galaxy S20.

Samsung Galaxy S20 / S20+ / S20 Ultra XDA Forums

The ROM at hand is a port of LineageOS 18.1 for the Exynos Galaxy S20, S20 Plus, and the S20 Ultra, brought to you by XDA Senior Member DeHuMaNiZeD and Linux4 on behalf of Team Exynoobs. The build may not be official yet, but work continues to be done on it and an official build could be coming in the near future. It is worth mentioning that SELinux in the ROM is set as enforcing, which is a big plus in terms of security. There are some non-functional features, though. The most prevalent one is Wi-Fi Display, which has been a thorn on the side of many developers working on custom ROMs that are based on Android 11.

Having said that, the main bits that you would need to at least use this port as a daily driver are working. If you have either the 4G or the 5G Exynos variant of the Galaxy S20 running the official One UI 3.0/3.1 firmware, then you should be able to install and boot the unofficial LineageOS 18.1 ROM without any issues. There’s no official TWRP build you can use, but the developer has put together a specially-tuned unofficial build that you can install on your device to flash the ROM.

Download Unofficial LineageOS 18.1 for Exynos Samsung Galaxy S20

It’s great to see that development for a flagship Exynos device like the Galaxy S20 is slowly but steadily overcoming the odds. There’s a lot to love about the hardware, but Samsung’s One UI might not be everyone’s cup of tea. Thankfully, users of the phones can now get a taste of vanilla Android 11 with a ton of useful features by installing this build. If you feel like helping out the developer to test for more bugs or even to work on the ROM itself, feel free to download the build and take it for a spin.

Zoom bringing automatic closed captioning to free users later this year

Zoom has announced plans to make automatic closed captioning available to all users, including those on a free plan, in the fall of 2021. The upcoming feature is part of Zoom’s larger commitment to making its platform more accessible.

Currently, Zoom’s accessibility features include manual closed captioning, keyboard accessibility, pinning or spotlighting interpreter video, screen reader support, and more. Automatic closed captioning will make Zoom meetings more accessible to those who have difficulty hearing, and will require no extra work from companies and hosts. That kind of seamlessness is what makes Zoom so popular.

Zoom said that before automatic closed captioning is available to all users, meeting hosts who need immediate accommodation can request the Live Transcription feature starting today. Just fill out this form and you’ll receive a confirmation email with details. Zoom said it expects a high volume of requests, so there may be a delay in hearing back.

By now you know that Zoom has become insanely popular thanks to more people working from home. It’s a tool that workforces across the world have become intimately familiar with, and to hear the company is making it more accessible is great news. Whether you use it for work, school, or simply want to keep in touch with family and friends, the new Live Transcription feature is a fantastic addition.

Accessibility features aren’t the only improvements we’ve seen to Zoom over the past several months. The platform recently introduced fun studio effects, and also added a green room feature to help users check their audio and video settings before joining a call. Similarly, Zoom added a new call end chime to alert users when someone abruptly disconnects from a meeting.

Automatic closed captioning is still a long way from being available to everyone, but we’ll be sure to let you know once it’s live.

In fact, Acer’s own marketing material doesn’t mention anything about gaming on the new laptop, which comes with very simple-looking design aesthetics. So why is Acer pushing the ‘gaming’ moniker for Indian consumers? For starters, the company isn’t technically wrong, as it does have the power to handle most competitive esports titles and a few AAA-titles at low settings. With the new offering, Acer could capture a large chunk of gaming enthusiasts in India who are looking for an entry-level machine that is great for both work and a little bit of gaming. The GeForce RTX 3060 releases today at noon EST! Here’s where to order one

Today is the release date of a new NVIDIA graphics card–the GeForce RTX 3060! At noon EST (or 9 AM PST), the latest in the 30 series of NVIDIA cards will be released, and you can be sure it’ll be a mad rush to get one in your cart and check out. Don’t waste time searching for the item while stock is running out! Below are the retailers that will have the graphics card in stock.

Of course, if you’re going to try and grab one today, you need to make sure you’re prepared! Just one login screen or payment update can be the difference between getting one and missing out, so check out our tips to give you the highest chances of ordering the GeForce RTX 3060:

  • Make sure you have an account at the store and all personal information is updated. Restocks put enormous strains on websites. On top of that, retailers will only allow you to hold it in your cart for a few minutes, if even that long, when it comes to items like this. Don’t waste your chance trying to update your address or payment information!
  • Start refreshing the page early. Often, retailers won’t put stock up at EXACTLY the moment they say. It may be a few minutes early or late. Get to the store page of the item you want before the restock time. You might get lucky!
  • Use Ctrl+F5, not just F5. This gives you a hard refresh that doesn’t pull store information from the cache. So, you won’t get outdated information and will be able to see the “Buy” button as soon as possible!
  • It’s usually better to be on the computer rather than your phone. While that is not always the case, mobile websites aren’t always optimized for fast refreshing or optimized for mobile viewing at all, sometimes. However, sometimes you can have better luck on a mobile app than a browser site. It’s not very often, though, so it’s best to start trying with your computer browser first.

Pick your retailer, make sure your payment information is up to date, and start hitting Ctrl + F5. Little things like this go a long way!

With that out of the way, here is where the GeForce RTX 3060 will be available:

    RTX 3060 at Best Buy

This link has both the 3060Ti and the 3060. The new cards are listings two and three!
    RTX 3060 at Amazon

Amazon's link is to the GeForce 30 series store page. The 3060 should show up here!
    RTX 3060 at B&H

No one would expect the 3060 at B&H! The product listings aren't showing yet, but should around noon.
    RTX 3060 at NVIDIA

Try your luck NVIDIA's page! The 3060s should show up in the store listings around noon.
    RTX 3060 at Newegg

Newegg is one of the places to go for computer parts, but that might mean it's also the most difficult to land one at.

Good luck! Let us know if you get one in the comments!

Xbox Series X and Series S Restocks: Stock live at Target for the X and S right now!

It’s time for a new gaming console generation, so you know what that means… time to hopelessly try to get a new console! Like most new generational launches, the Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S is difficult to find, and many are left waiting for seconds-long Xbox Series X and S restocks. It’s a frustrating situation for sure, and while we can’t offer you a surefire way to get an Xbox Series X or Series S, we can help by gathering everything you need to know in one place. Check out the below and happy hunting!

By the way, we also have a restock guide for the PlayStation 5!

When and where will the Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S be restocked?

While we believe the information below is accurate, it’s important to note that sometimes restocks don’t happen as planned. Restocks may go up late, websites may break, or retailers may just change their minds. This information is to help you plan for possible restocks.

Stock for the new Xbox series of systems seems to be doing a bit better than the PlayStation 5, but it’s still difficult to grab one. A Microsoft spokesperson even told CNET that stock will be limited until April 2021.

Right now (yes, right this second), Target has both the Xbox Series X and Series S in stock! Make sure to grab one before they sell out–they’ve been in stock for a few minutes now, but there’s no telling how long that’ll last.

Amazon and Best Buy have occasionally been dropping stock of the new consoles, but it’s often without warning. You can check the store page occasionally, but it’s often best that you follow Twitter accounts or bots that provide minute-to-minute updates on the Xbox Series consoles for grabbing one on.

If you really need an Xbox Series X or S before Christmas, you can pick one up for an inflated price at StockX. Xbox prices seem to be less inflated than the PlayStation 5, at least! Also, StockX is a bit safer at the moment for buying a reseller console. eBay is unfortunately full of misleading listings and flat out scams. If you’re going this route, stick with StockX!

General advice for restocks

Trying to get your hands on something with limited stock is really, really stressful. Make sure to give yourself the best chance you can by following the advice below!

  • Make sure you have an account at the store, and all personal information is updated. Restocks of popular items like the Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S put huge strains on websites. On top of that, when it comes to items like these, retailers will only allow you to hold it in your cart for a few minutes.
This gives you a hard refresh, that doesn’t pull store information from the cache. So, you won’t get outdated information and will be able to see the “Buy” button as soon as possible!
  • It’s usually better to be on the computer, rather than your phone. While that is not always the case, mobile websites aren’t always optimized for fast refreshing. Or optimized for mobile viewing at all, sometimes. However, sometimes you can have better luck on a mobile app than a browser site. It’s not very often, though, so it’s best to start trying with your computer browser, first.
