NVIDIA’s GeForce NOW game-streaming service enjoys its share in the now-crowded game streaming market on the fact that it was one of the first to appear for end consumers. The service started beta testing for Android last year and opened up for everyone in February. This week, NVIDIA is giving GeForce NOW 6 new additions, including titles like Crusader Kings III, Iron Harvest, and Guild Wars: Game of the Year.

There’s also Into the Breach, which is the free game offered by the Epic Games Store for this week.

Further, as a launch offer for the new GeForce RTX 30 Series GPU this week, NVIDIA also announced that all GeForce RTX 30 series GPU would come bundled with 1-year of GeForce NOW. The bundle will kick-off alongside availability, starting on September 17, 2020. Further, new purchases of the GPU or a pre-built GeForce RTX 30 series PC at participating partners will also receive a PC digital download copy of Watch Dogs: Legion. You can find more information on the bundle here.

Spatial launches its VR meetings app on Facebook’s Oculus Quest store

Virtual Reality has fallen off interest cycles, with the conversation leaning towards the more beginner-friendly Augmented Reality. But with 2020 being largely shaped by the COVID-19 pandemic, it might be worthwhile revisiting VR and the potential for influence it has for our lives. Spatial is a company that made headlines at CES 2020 for its hardware-agnostic VR and AR-based software, which allowed workers to communicate with holograms and virtual objects. Now, Spatial has launched its VR meetings app on Facebook’s Oculus Quest store.

Spatial’s VR/AR collaboration platform/app essentially turns any room into a 3D workspace, and it is now making its way to the Oculus Quest Store. This makes the app much more easily accessible on one of the most widely used headsets currently. Spatial is also announcing a lot of new features that will take the immersive collaboration and level it up — including integration with Slack, Google Docs, Figma; a new whiteboard tool for note-taking, improved text readability, embedded web pages, hand tracking, multiple video conference feeds, and some more. The idea behind these changes is to more accurately support in-person as well as digital collaboration.

We constantly look to our customers to hear how to make the experience more personal and expressive for them – we want to make it so intuitive that it barely feels like work at all. Our power users spend several hours a day in Spatial, showing we are on a trajectory for holographic collaboration that not only replaces major meetings but transforms the way we work throughout the day, mirroring how we might interact with others in a physical office. Being featured on the Quest Store with our latest and greatest experience is a huge moment for us, as it breaks down the barrier to entry to a device that continues to be where we see our highest number of users.

Anand Agarawala, CEO and Co-Founder of Spatial

The complete list of changes in the new update are as follows:

  • Cloud integrations to bring Slack, Google Drive and Figma into VR – Automatic importing of your Slack channels, Google docs or Figma boards right into Spatial, making it easier to collaborate on the content you care about. No more manual uploads.
  • Improved text readability & embedded web pages – Text is now incredibly crisp for screen-shares and web pages thanks to Oculus OVR layers.
  • Real-time productivity – Share and capture ideas with the digital note-taking whiteboard tool and pull up and arrange live web pages for real-time editing.
  • Expressive hand gestures – Goodbye controllers, you can now interact purely with your hands-on Quest for an even more intuitive interface. Celebrate by clapping your hands or high fiving/fist-bumping a friend and watch the fun particle effects come out.
  • Larger room capacity – 20+ participants can join via video feeds from the Spatial web app with no loss in performance, in addition to 30 people in headset, for even larger collaboration.
  • Go Pro – Spatial is introducing a Free and Pro version. Go Pro for unlimited storage for your collaborative rooms.

Spatial claims to work across VR and AR-enabled devices including: Oculus Quest, Nreal, Magic Leap, Microsoft HoloLens, and PC and mobile via the web.

If you have a higher budget, you can always opt for the official cases which offer the maximum compatibility with the phone and other official accessories. OnePlus’s official cases also feature the signature Sandstone finish that the company first used on the OnePlus One. OnePlus also has some unique Creator cases, such as the famous Teardown graphics co-created with Zach from JeryyRigEverything.

Higher budget spenders can also look for tried-and-trusted brands like Dbrand — not only do they have great offerings that provide the ultimate in protection, they also have a history and reputation of consistently providing such protection. Otterbox does not have an official case for the Nord just yet and considering that the phone is not coming to the USA, we aren’t sure if they will offer one in the future. Lower down the line, options from Spigen, Ringke, and some other domestic brands give you a wide variety of choices.

You can go completely clear and flexible with thin see-through cases, or opt for a re-inforced bumper, or go for a more rigid TPU shell, or even go for flip covers for added style. If you don’t want to add any thickness to your device, you might want to opt for a skin instead — they offer basic scratch protection and smudge-protection, plus they really help you add a unique look to your device with ease. Options for skins include the trusted Dbrand for international customers and Capes India for those looking for quicker shipping in India. Choose your pick!

Of course, all of these cases are for the OnePlus Nord. If you haven’t already bought yours, you can buy yours from the links below, or check out all the best OnePlus Nord deals!

TCL 10 5G gets certified by the FCC with support for mmWave 5G, likely on Verizon

Chinese OEM TCL unveiled the TCL 10 series earlier this year in April, featuring three new devices — the TCL 10L, TCL 10 Pro, and TCL 10 5G. At the time, the company had announced the pricing and availability details for the TCL 10L and TCL 10 Pro in the U.S., however, the company had said that the TCL 10 5G would be released in the U.S. at a later date. Almost five months down the line, it seems like TCL is finally ready to launch the TCL 10 5G in the U.S. as the device has been now been spotted in an FCC certification listing with the model number TCL T790S.

We can confirm that the recently certified device is the TCL 10 5G, as a device with the model number T790S is listed as a variant of the TCL 10 5G on the Bluetooth SIG website. The FCC listing also includes a diagram that further confirms that it’s the TCL 10 5G. In case you’re not familiar with the device, the TCL 10 5G is a Qualcomm Snapdragon 765G powered mid-range smartphone, which features a 6.53-inch FHD+ display with a hole-punch cutout for the selfie camera.

TCL 10 5G

The device comes with 6GB of RAM and 128GB of storage, and it packs in a 4,500mAh battery with support for 18W fast charging. In the camera department, the TCL 10 5G features a quad-camera setup on the back, with a 64MP primary sensor, an 8MP ultra-wide sensor, a 5MP macro sensor, and a 2MP depth sensor. Over on the front, the device features a single 16MP selfie shooter. The smartphone runs TCL UI based on Android 10 out of the box and it’s priced at €399 in Europe.

Along with the diagram showcasing the TCL 10 5G’s design, the FCC listing includes an image that highlights its dimensions and the location of the mmWave antennas. The listing further reveals that the device will support 5G NR on bands n2, n5, and n66 (all sub-6GHz), along with n260 and n261 (mmWave). It’s also worth noting that since Verizon is the only major carrier in the U.S. still heavily marketing phones with mmWave on its network, we believe that the TCL 10 5G is headed to the carrier.

VOLTA Spark Recreates the Convenience of the MagSafe Charger

The way you charge your electronic devices becomes more and more universal every day. As manufacturers ditch proprietary charges and switch to USB-C charging, some old clever methods of charging get lost. One of the favorite means of charging has always been the Apple MagSafe charger that was designed for early MacBooks.

VOLTA has been recreating this charging method, with modern charging cables like UBS-C. VOLTA is not new to this arena. For years they have made some of the highest quality magnetic chargers on the market. Their designs are smart, with a small magnetic adapter that sits almost flush with the edge of your phone. They make an array of different adapters, aimed to make charging a more universal experience, with one cable for all of your devices. In this article, we are going to look at their newest product, the VOLTA Spark.

VOLTA Spark is a magnetic charging cable with adapters for USB-C, Micro-USB, and Lightning. Charge your devices with a max of 100W USB-C PD charging and 480mbps data transfer.

Back the Indiegogo campaign for VOLTA Spark here

Use the VOLTA Spark to charge all of your devices

VOLTA Spark’s snag-safe design prevent accidents that can send your laptop flying across the room

  • Snag-safe magnetic design
  • Works with multiple adapters
  • Charges any USB-C, Micro-USB, or Lightning device
  • Anti-fray guard
  • Smart LED charging indicator
  • Strong N52 neodymium magnet
  • Fast charging
  • Lifetime warranty
  • OTG charging

The VOLTA Spark is a whole lot more convenient than traditional chargers, and it doesn’t skip out on quality or specs. The cable can push up to 100W power on the USB-C connections, 18W on Lighting, and 10W on Micro-USB. The UBS 2.0 data transfer allows for 480mbps transfer speeds.

Two perfectly aligned, N52-grade Neodymium reversible magnets in 360° orientation – at both ends – deliver an immediate, powerful connection in an instant. No more stabbing your device to death trying to connect for a charge. Just get the end of the cable close to the connector, and it snaps right into place.

VOLTA

Durability is a major focus of this cable. While so many charging cables break over time, the VOLTA Spark is designed to last. The anti-fray guard prevents the end of the cable from splitting and wearing out. The bend support allows for flexibility near the end of the charger. All of these features are brought together to make sure you are not buying another cheap charger that will only last you a month.

If you’re looking to consolidate your collection of chargers, and you’re tired of low-quality cheap solutions, VOLTA Spark is designed for you. It’s a safer, more convenient charger with a warranty that makes it the last charger you’ll ever need. See more information on the campaign page here.

Samsung updates the Galaxy S10 series with One UI 2.5 and September 2020 patches

The Samsung Galaxy S10 series debuted in 2019 with the first generation One UI skin based on Android 9 Pie. A few months later, the smartphone lineup received its first major Android OS update in the form of One UI 2.0 on top of Android 10. The Korean OEM subsequently delivered an incremental update of One UI 2.1 for these phones which brought in several software features from the Galaxy S20. Continuing the pattern, the company has now started rolling out the One UI 2.5 update to the Samsung Galaxy S10 that tags along a plethora of Galaxy Note 20-specific functionalities.

XDA Forums: Samsung Galaxy S10e || Samsung Galaxy S10 || Samsung Galaxy S10 Plus

The One UI 2.5 OTA for the Galaxy S10 family of phones is currently rolling out to users in Germany. The firmware version is G97xFXXU8DTH7, which is meant for the international variants powered by the Exynos 9820 SoC. The changelog itself is quite large, due to the fact that the update bundles a handful of new features like Wireless DeX and an enhanced Pro Video mode. Samsung has also been able to ship the September 2020 Android security patches through this update.

samsung_galaxy_s10_one_ui_2.5_ota samsung_galaxy_s10_one_ui_2.5_about

Thanks to XDA Recognized Contributor It_ler for the screenshots!

The bootloader version, however, isn’t incremented in this update. As a result, experienced users can have the freedom to perform a manual downgrade to the previous One UI 2.1-based firmware with bootloader version 8, but we would still advise caution before doing so.

In case you haven’t received the update on your device yet, you can download it using tools like Frija which grabs the firmware packages directly from Samsung’s Firmware Update Server. It’s worth mentioning that the aforementioned builds are not at all compatible with the Snapdragon-powered Galaxy S10 variants sold in the U.S., thus cross-flashing is a no-go.

As mentioned earlier, the update is currently only available to users in Germany, but Samsung is going to roll out the same in more European countries as well as other regions in the coming days. FYI, the Galaxy S20 series and the 4G variant of the Galaxy Z Flip have already received the One UI 2.5 update from Samsung, and we expect the Galaxy Note 10/Note 10+ are the next candidates.
