Square Enix has officially announced Final Fantasy Legends II, the latest mobile game in the long-running RPG series. The game's reveal was teased by the Japanese publisher last week. It also confirmed the game will be coming out for Android and iOS platforms.

If you are reading this in the West and wonder if you somehow missed the first Final Fantasy Legends game, don't fret. Square Enix renamed the game as Final Fantasy Dimensions when it was released outside of Japan several years ago.

Final Fantasy Legends II will be directed by Takashi Tokita, who did the same duties in the first game in the series. Square Enix released a teaser trailer for the new game today but it does not offer any info or gameplay footage.

At the moment, the game is currently slated for a Japanese release only, but we have seen Square Enix launch other Final Fantasy mobile games worldwide as well at some point. Japanese residents can already pre-register for Final Fantasy Legends II on Square Enix's website. In return, they will get early access to two in-game items: the Tidus' Phantom Stone, from Final Fantasy X  and the Fraternity weapon. There's no word on when the game will be released.

Are you excited at the prospect of a new Final Fantasy mobile game for Android coming out soon?

Adobe releases pair of powerful new apps: Photoshop Sketch and Comp CC

adobe-photoshop-sketch-heroAdobe has released Adobe Photoshop Sketch and Adobe Comp CC in the Play Store. The comprehensive new apps have just arrived to help you tackle sketching and graphic design, while Adobe's Illustrator Draw app has also been updated to version 3.0 with some exciting new features.

Photoshop Sketch (pictured above) brings the sketchbook experience to Android. Produce artwork with "pencils, pens, markers, erasers, thick acrylic, ink brush, soft pastel and watercolor paint brushes" in an app that focuses more on creation than typical Photoshop image editing. The are also 11 tools to make use of for adjusting the size, color, opacity and blending settings of the instruments.

Comp CC (pictured below), on the other hand, is a wireframe design tool for creating concepts for web, mobile and print. It's been built from the ground up for smartphones and tablets, aiming to provide an easy way to layer and organize shapes, add text, graphics and more to your design projects. It also features "professional fonts" powered by Typekit.

Finally, Adobe Illustrator Draw has been upgraded to version 3.0 and with it comes enhanced brush settings. Illustrator Draw is a vector artwork app that allows artists to make use of multiple image and drawing layers. Included in version 3.0 are all-new settings which allow you to control how each brush responds to pressure and velocity and the shape and rotation of their tips.

The apps are available now for free but you will need an Adobe Creative Cloud account (also free) to try them out. Download Photoshop Sketch, Comp CC and Illustrator Draw via the respective links.

LeEco Le Pro3 and Le S3 hands-on

LeEco, previously known as LeTV, is still quite new to the Android game, but some may know it as the company that released the first Snapdragon 820-powered smartphone earlier this year. In markets where they have a bigger presence like China and India, LeEco is known for their high quality smartphones and peripherals that are very aggressively priced. Now the company is hoping to replicate that success by bringing the same formula to the highly-competitive US.

At a launch event in California, LeEco introduced a flagship smartphone and a mid-range device, and we got to spend time with them. Here is the first look, as we go hands on with the LeEco Le Pro 3 and the Le S3!

LeEco Le Pro 3

We start with the flagship LeEco Le Pro3, that features a 5.5-inch Full HD display, and the Qualcomm Snapdragon 821 processor backed by 4GB of RAM. The device comes with 64GB of on-board storage, a 16MP rear camera, an 8MP front-facing unit, and a large 4,070mAh battery with fast charging capabilities that will allow for the phone to be charged up to 33% in just minutes.

Those familiar with LeEco's other smartphones will not be surprised at the fact that the Le Pro3 doesn't come with a 3.5mm headphone jack – a trend that we are likely to see spread across the smartphone ecosystem. Instead you get to take advantage of Continuous Digital Lossless Audio (CDLA) through the USB Type-C port.

The Le Pro3 retains a lot of the design language of its predecessor, but if you haven't come across the latter before, the LeEco flagship will remind you of the OnePlus 3. The device features a full metal unibody construction with a shiny, almost glossy, finish. It's a nice and sleek looking device, and does feel sturdy in the hand, and with a bit of heft to it.

The 16MP and 8MP cameras are found at the back and front, respectively, and the setup does look to be quite promising at first glance. A look at the camera app indicates that the picture-taking experience may be a touch simplistic, but we can only better judge the camera performance after spending a lot more time with this phone.

As is now expected from a Chinese smartphone, the software experience is vastly different from what is expected from Android. While the usual Android bells and whistles are available, LeEco's launcher includes a few unique features that not only make this software package stand out from stock Android, but from what is available from other Chinese OEMs as available.

What appears to be a button to open the app drawer is instead a "Live" button that takes you into the LeTV ecosystem. This is essentially the TV streaming service that LeEco was known for back when the company was still LeTV, and includes a slew of video streaming options, as well as access to their original dramas, that have garnered billions of views so far.

Tapping the Live button takes you to the live streaming service that includes a number of different channels that you can stream directly from and see all their content. An extra function that is available here is the ability to shrink the window, to let you see the live streaming content in the floating window while you continue to browse the rest of the service, or do anything else on the phone.

LeEco also brought out their latest mid-range offering, the Le S3, which also comes with a 5.5-inch Full HD display, a Qualcomm Snapdragon 652 processor, 3GB of RAM, and 32GB of internal storage. The camera setup remains the same as its more premium sibling though, while it packs a smaller 3,000mAh battery.

LeEco Le Pro3

Despite featuring the same display size as the Le Pro3, the Le S3 actually feels a lot lighter than the former, and comes with a full metal unibody construction without the glossy finish. The shine is quite less comparatively, and the Le S3 also won't be as much of a fingerprint magnet. The software experience is the same between the two LeEco smartphones as well.

LeEco Le S3

The best part about these phones by far is their price point, which is bound to disrupt the high-end and mid-range segments in the US. The LeEco Le Pro3 and the Le S3 are priced at just $399 and $249, respectively. To sweeten the deal even more, if you buy these phones on November 2, you can avail a $100 discount by signing up for the LeMall Rewards program. While those in India and China will not be surprised an LeEco's aggressive pricing, the price announcement did elicit some gasps from the audience at the launch event.

The LeEco Le Pro3 is definitely a device to look out for, despite the fact that it comes with a flavor of Android that many may not be used to. If the camera manages to be as good as it appears to be on paper, and the performance is as smooth as is expected from the Snapdragon 821, then the $299 price point on November 2, and even the $399 price tag after that day, makes this smartphone a great one to consider.

LeEco’s big US flash sale starts today – here’s what you need to know

leeco-le-s3-hands-on-6-of-13

In mid-October, LeEco (formerly Letv) hosted a huge U.S. launch event, where the company laid out its plans to bring its growing product portfolio to the United States. While it did show off some impressive self-driving car prototypes and VR headsets, those aren't the products coming to the States… at least for right now. Unsurprisingly, the company is launching in the U.S. with more consumer-friendly products – smartphones and TVs.

Starting today, November 2 at 10AM PT/1PM ET, you'll be able to buy LeEco's Le Pro3 and Le S3 smartphones, as well as four connected televisions. You won't be able to simply head to the website and start buying things, though. Since there's limited stock available for each of these products, you'll first need to sign up for the LeRewards program. The flash sale is only open to folks who pre-register, so you'll need to sign up early if you want to participate.

LeRewards members can save big on LeEco smartphones today

Are there any other benefits to the LeRewards program? Of course there are! Not only does this include three months of LeEco's EcoPass, you'll also get big discounts on the company's smartphones and televisions. For instance, instead of paying the full $399 price for the flagship Le Pro3, LeRewards members will receive a $100 instant rebate on the phone. The same deal goes for the budget-friendly Le S3, which will cost just $150 after rebate.

Now, there's no telling how much stock LeEco will have of each product, so this sale could last mere minutes. We'd suggest trying to place your order as soon as possible if you're interested.

So, what exactly is going on sale at 10AM PT/1PM ET? We'll give you a quick rundown:

LeEco Le Pro3 and Le S3

It also has a big 4,070mAh battery that LeEco says will be able to charge to 33% in just 20 minutes. What's more, the device doesn't sport a 3.5mm headphone jack. Instead, it provides "Continual Digital Lossless Audio" through its USB Type-C port.

LeEco is putting a total of four smart TVs up for sale, ranging from $649 to $4,999. Of course, you'll be able to save a few hundred bucks on each of these if you're a LeRewards member.
