Snag a free tablet when you buy the unlocked LG V20 from Newegg or B&H Photo

LG V20 review-19

The LG V20 is getting ready to make its official US debut, and if you want to get this Android 7.0 Nougat smartphone, you might want to considering snagging it from either Newegg or B&H Photo. Both retailers are offering to throw in a free 7-inch LG G Pad tablet, which on its own is worth $149.99.

Both Newegg and B&H are selling the unlocked LG V2o for $799.99. The free tablet comes with 8GB of storage and 1GB of RAM, along with a Wi-Fi connection (sorry, no cellular wireless support). It's a nice bonus for buyers looking to get a tablet for themselves, or to pass on to a friend or family member, even with its low-end hardware.

In addition to the free tablet, the Newegg LG V20 listing also includes another bonus: a ORICO power bank, which is presumably an external battery for smartphones and tablets. There's no word on its worth or its battery size, but it's yet another nice freebie for the cost of getting the unlocked LG V20. Pre-orders are already live at Newgg for the phone, but shipments won't start until November 11. B&H Photo won't begin taking pre-orders until October 19. If you want to get the LG V20, which of these two retailers will you use?

10 best rhythm games for Android

VOEZ best rhythm games for android
Rhythm games have been around for a long time. Who can forget the days of Dance Dance Revolution? We saw a huge spike in popularity with games like Rock Band and Guitar Hero as well. As it turns out, there is plenty of the genre on mobile as well. Here are the best rhythm games for Android!

beats advanced rhythm game best rhythm games for AndroidBeats, Advanced Rhythm Game

[Price: Free]
Beats is a once popular rhythm game that was also open source. The developers halted development of the app in 2014 and the app's Github page is similarly bereft of recent updates. That said, it's still a pretty solid game. It uses classic DDR-style controls where you'll have to hit directional buttons (and sometimes hold) in accordance with the beat of the song. It comes with ten sample songs but you can download more from the menu. The project is all but defunct, but it is completely free so there's no harm in trying it out to see if it works for you.

BeatX best rhythm games for AndroidBeatX

[Price: Free / $2.99]
BeatX has been one of the more consistent rhythm games on Android. It also features a DDR-style method of play with directional buttons and holds. You'll also have access to a single player mode, doubles mode, and split-screen multiplayer. On top of being a solid title, the game also features tons of content. You'll also be able to upload your own files as long as they are in in the proper formats (.sm, .smzip, .dwi). It's a fairly comprehensive game. We also like its frequent updates.

cytus best rhythm games for AndroidCytus

[Price: Free with in-app purchases]
Cytus is one of a few rhythm games on Android that are developed by Rayark International. This game features 200 tracks with over 400 total variants across nine difficulties. This one takes a break from the standard DDR-style and instead makes you tap notes as they pass through the line. Unlike many games in this space, Cytus has a story line that you can follow and play through. You can purchase more songs and song packs as in-app purchases.

deemo best rhythm games for AndroidDeemo

[Price: Free with in-app purchases]
Deemo is the second of three rhythm games on this list developed by Rayark. No, it's not a sponsored list. These devs just do good work. Deemo contains a lot of similarities to Cytus. You'll be able to play through a story line. The game is anime themed and contains interesting game mechanics. This one comes with 40 free tracks in story mode and you can purchase more as in-app purchases in the form of song packs. It's not quite as massive as Cytus, but it's still pretty good.

Dynamix best rhythm games for AndroidDynamix

[Price: Free with in-app purchases]
Dynamix is one of the newer generation of rhythm games that have done very well. This one features a top-down style of play along with swiping actions that add to the complexity and difficulty. It features 20 songs and you can buy more as in-app purchases. Like many, this one uses an anime-theme with bright, neon colors all over the place. It's one of the more shallow titles in terms of content, but you can try it out without paying anything.

lanota best rhythm games for AndroidLanota

[Price: Free with in-app purchases]
Lanota is one of the most unique rhythm games on this list. Unlike many, it puts a heavy emphasis on the story line. You'll play as the title character as you travel a map and discover new secrets. The actual game mechanics take place on a giant wheel that moves around. This makes the game both challenging and complex in a different way than most others. It features ten levels, three difficulties, 16 tracks, and a picture book that shows you the story. It's definitely unique.

O2Jam best rhythm games for AndroidO2Jam

[Price: Free with in-app purchases]
O2Jam is a rhythm game that isn't joking around. You can see in the video below that this game gets rather difficult. It boasts a large song library that revolves around somewhat typical game play mechanics. It's not a perfect experience though, as the game does suffer from some translation issues and an ancient looking interface. Still, it's a free game and it manages to be difficult without losing its ability to be fun. It's good and worth a shot.

Download now on Google Play!

TunesHolic best rhythm games for AndroidTunesHolic

[Price: Free with in-app purchases]
TunesHolic is one of the more traditional rhythm games. It uses a flat, colorful style similar to Guitar Hero. There are a variable number of buttons for you to tap and the game features the ability to create step files from any music file on your device. It doesn't always do a good job, but it's still fairly entertaining. You can even control things like speed, difficulty, and more. It's a solid overall option although its execution is still a bit sloppy.

voez best rhythm games for androidVOEZ

[Price: Free with in-app purchases]
VOEZ is the latest rhythm game out of Rayark. It features a small story line that should be easy to follow along with some unique game mechanics. It relies on the basic "tap the note when it falls" philosophy, but the step lanes move about and you'll have to tap and swipe your way to victory. Because of this, it feels like a slightly different kind of game from other titles. You'll have a set of songs you can play for free and more song packs that can be had as in-app purchases, much likes other Rayark games. It's definitely worth a shot.

Download now on Google Play!

Zyon best rhythm games for AndroidZyon

[Price: Free with in-app purchases]
Zyon is the one and only game released by developer AQUATRAX. Like many rhythm games on this list, this one features anime-themed content. Instead of dealing with a step lane like normal rhythm games, you'll have a number of buttons around the screen that you'll need to hit. The game will give you 30 tracks for free, three difficulties, and Google Play Games leaderboards and achievements. It's a bit different, but it's still a ton of fun.

Rogers President and CEO Guy Laurence departs after three years

rogers

Rogers has revealed that its President and Chief Executive Officer Guy Laurence will leave the Canadian wireless carrier, effective immediately. Laurence became the head of Rogers back in 2013 after previously serving as the CEO of Vodafone UK.

In its press release, the company stated that it currently plans to bring Joseph Natale on board as its new President and Chief Executive Officer. Natale was most recently the CEO of rival Canadian wireless carrier Telus, but left in August 2015 after just 18 months on the job.

Google-Pixel-PhoneSee also: Google Pixel will be available on October 20, says Rogers10

Due to a non-compete clause in his contract, Natale cannot officially become CEO of Rogers for several more months. The company stated that its chairman Alan Horn will serve as its interim President and CEO until Natale can take over. In a statement, Horn said everything will be "business as usual" at Rogers while it waits for Natale's non-compete clause to expire.

During his three years as CEO, Laurence spearheaded a number of changes and new additions for the carrier. One of them was Roam Like Home, which allowed Rogers customers to access all of their talk and data features in their monthly Share Everything plan in over 100 countries around the world for a small daily fee.

In related news, the carrier revealed its third quarter 2016 financial results. Revenues came in at $3.49 billion, up compared to $3.38 billion from the same period a year ago. Net income was recorded at $220 million for the quarter, down from $464 million from a year ago. Rogers said that part of the reason for the lower income numbers was due to the company's decision to shut down its video streaming service Shomi.

Samsung’s Gear 360 is finally available from major carriers and Best Buy

samsung gear 360 review aa-12

Samsung's 360-degree camera launched way back in February, and until now, it hasn't exactly been easy to buy one of these bad boys. That's because even though the Gear 360 went on sale in the US in mid-August, it was an extremely limited release. Well, if you've been looking to buy Samsung's 360-degree camera, you'll be pleased to know that it is now available from major carriers in the US and Best Buy for $349.99.

samsung gear 360 review aa-11See also: Samsung Gear 360 review14

With the emergence of VR, 360-degree photos and videos are increasingly becoming popular. Facebook already offers a fully-integrated way of viewing and sharing 360-degree media content, and it even lets you post 360-degree photos and videos as comments. If you ask me, this is only the beginning, and it seems like Samsung has also noticed that 360-degree photography is slowly gaining traction.

Samsung's very own 360-degree camera was only available through certain online retailers, but now you can purchase one from in-store retailers like AT&T, Sprint, Verizon Wireless, and U.S. Cellular. If carriers aren't your thing, you can check out your local Best Buy as well.

Just to quickly recap, the Gear 360 boasts 30-megapixel spherical stills and up to 3840 x 1920 resolution in video-recording. Unlike the LG 360 Cam, the Gear 360 is capable of shooting 4K content and in general, boasts higher quality photos and videos. The Gear 360 has a screen on top for basic information, which isn't all that useful (but better than nothing, I guess). It is powered by a 1,350 mAh battery that should give you enough juice, but it is also user-replaceable, so you can always swap it out for a charged one. Just FYI, it is IP53 certified, meaning very minimal protection against water.

Will you be buying the Gear 360? Thoughts on its price tag? Let us know by leaving a comment below!

ZTE Nubia Z11 Mini S debuts with 23MP camera and 4GB of RAM

ZTE Nubia Z11 Mini S

ZTE has officially taken the veil off its new smartphone, the Nubia Z11 Mini S. This is the newest member of the company's sub-brand line that packs a punch after all.

While the Nubia Z11 Mini S retains the "mini" moniker, the smartphone isn't really small as it sports a 5.2-inch Full HD display. The handset's main selling point, however, is its 23-megapixel rear shooter with a phase-detection autofocus that's supposedly able to focus on an object in just a fraction of a second. Its f/2.0 aperture should also make the camera a decent low-light shooter. Moreover, the 13MP front shooter comes with a Sony IMX25 sensor and an f/2.2 aperture that will surely capture the heart of selfie-addicts.

The Nubia Z11 Mini S runs Android 6.0 Marshmallow with an overlay of Nubia UI 4.0, though it remains unclear when (or if) the phone will be getting the Android 7.0 Nougat treatment. Inside, the handset includes an octa-core Snapdragon 625 processor clocked at 2.0 GHz, versus its predecessor's Qualcomm MSM8952 Snapdragon 617. It also packs 64GB of built-in storage and 4GB of RAM, up from the Nubia Z11 Mini's 3GB RAM.

Storage options include 64 and 128GB variants, and there's also support for expandable memory up to 200GB. Support for 4G VoLTE, dual-band Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.1, and USB Type-C connectivity has been included, too. The Nubia Z11 Mini S has a 3000mAh non-removable battery that will supposedly keep the phone in operation for up to 3.51 days of use per charge. The ubiquitous fingerprint sensor is present on the back along with NFC support through the NeoSafe 2.0 system.
